Academic Success Courses

ASU offers several courses that support student academic success and provide structured opportunities for out-of-class learning. Students in any major are encouraged to enroll in these courses. Seating is limited to 19-25 students per section. Class time is dedicated to discussion and small group interaction.

  • UNI 194 Academic Success Seminar - This 1 credit hour course helps students make a successful transition to ASU, develop the skills needed for academic success, engage in university life and in their own education, and learn to use campus resources.
  • UNI 194 Critical Reading and Thinking - This 3 credit hour course prepares students to be successful in college-level academics and helps them improve their critical reading and critical thinking skills. 
University Academic Success Programs is currently seeking applicants for multiple Teaching Assistant (TA) positions for summer and fall 2008.  Teaching opportunities include UNI 194 Academic Success and UNI 194 Critical Reading & Thinking courses.
