Academic Success Courses

ASU offers several courses that support student academic success and provide structured opportunities for out-of-class learning. Students in any major are encouraged to enroll in these courses. Seating is limited to 19-25 students per section. Class time is dedicated to discussion and small group interaction.

  • UNI 194: Academic Success Seminar (1 credit) helps students make a successful transition to ASU, develop the skills needed for academic success, engage in university life and in their own education, and learn to use campus resources.
  • UNI 194/110: Critical Reading and Thinking (3 credits) prepares students to be successful in college-level academics and helps them improve their critical reading and critical thinking skills.
