When should I come to the Writing Center?
- As soon as you are given a writing assignment, call for an appointment. (480) 727-1452
- At least two days before the paper is due, come in for an appointment.
What services are available?

- Manuals: APA, MLA, Turabian, Chicago

What typically happens during a Writing Center tutorial?
- The writing tutor will ask about your current project.
- The tutor may either read - or ask you to read - the paper aloud. The tutor will ask questions about clarity, organization, support, and sense, etc.
- If you have no paper to read, the writing tutor can help you plan the paper.
How can the tutor help me with my writing?
The tutor will help you with many aspects of writing, including
- understanding the assignment.
- developing ideas.

- research issues.
- documentation - APA, MLA, avoiding plagiarism, paraphrasing.

Will coming to the Writing Center improve my grades?
Grades are your instructor's responsibility. Students who use the Writing Center, however, tend to get better grades on papers and to feel more confident in their writing. The quality of the paper you turn in ultimately depends on your effort.
