Academic Success Clusters

What are Academic Success Clusters?

Offered in the fall semester, Academic Success Clusters are a great way to meet people and improve study habits. Groups of 19 first-semester freshmen are clustered together in the same critical courses. Students register for a pre-set schedule that includes general studies classes and a student success seminar--all at popular times and days of the week.

The Student Success Center partners with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) to offer weekly, structured review sessions for selected general education courses in Academic Success Clusters.  All students enrolled in these courses are encouraged to participate.

How do students benefit from Academic Success Clusters?

  • Students are guaranteed space in these classes.

  • Attending classes together allows students to participate in study groups easily

  • Selected large lecture courses include structured review sessions
