Summer
Summer Bridge 2009 will be offered July 5-August 6, 2009 at the Tempe campus. Eligible students planning to attend any ASU campus may apply. Please review eligibility requirements before submitting an application.

Benefits of Summer Bridge
Students who participate in Summer Bridge will receive the following:

Housing in a freshmen residence hall
-
Partial meal plan (about $10 per day)

Tuition waiver for 7 academic credits to be completed during the program

Textbooks for all Summer Bridge courses
-
Free Tutoring services
-
Weekday and weekend programming
Students who are accepted into Summer Bridge will be required to pay a community fee upon confirming their participation in the program. Rates are as follows:
- In-state students: $100
- Out-of-state students: $700
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident

Scheduled to graduate from high school in Spring 2009

Admitted to ASU for Fall 2009 as a full time, first-semester freshman
- Have a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file with the ASU Office of Student Financial Assistance (http://students.asu.edu/financial-aid). FAFSA MUST BE COMPLETED BY APRIL 4th, 2009.

Submitted a complete Summer Bridge Application
NOTE: Students applying for Summer Bridge should plan to participate in ASU New Student Orientation and complete the University Placement Exams by May 1, 2009.
Strong consideration will be given to eligible applicants who also meet at least ONE of the following criteria:

First-generation college students who will be first in their family to graduate from a four-year college or university.

Students who are members of groups historically underrepresented in higher education.

Students who may need additional support to be academically successful in college.
-
Students with demonstrated financial need as determined by the ASU Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Recipients of a scholarship offered by a Summer Bridge partner, such as: Doran Community Scholars, Dorrance Foundation Scholars, GATE/TRiO, Intercollegiate Athletics, Advantage ASU, and YMCA I-Learn.
Eligible students will be selected for Summer Bridge based on meeting the above criteria and their potential to benefit from the experience.

Selection Timeline
| April 4 | Application Priority Deadline. |
| April 6 | Completed applications reviewed by the Summer Bridge Selection Committee. |
| May 6 | Acceptance letters and confirmation forms mailed to selected participants. All other eligible applicants will be placed on the waiting list. |
| May 13 | Deadline for selected students to return acceptance packets and community fees. |
| Apr 29-June 17 | Selected alternates notified to fill non-confirmed spots and vacancies. |
