What are Teaching Teams? 

In Teaching Teams (TT), students who are currently enrolled in selected large lecture classes volunteer to serve as “Team Leaders” for their peers.

Team Leaders facilitate sessions designed to reinforce course content and offer course-specific discussion, problem-solving, and test-preparation strategies to their peers. They enroll in a 1-credit training course to acquire the skills necessary to lead their peers in group study and review sessions.   

How do students benefit from Teaching Teams? 

Students who participate regularly in Teaching Teams may benefit by:

• Earning higher scores on tests and quizzes than students who do not participate
• Gaining a better understanding of course concepts
• Learning more effective ways of studying
