Student Employment at the West campus
Thank you for your interest in tutoring for the Student Success Center at Arizona State University at the West campus. Tutoring offers a great way for you to develop your professional portfolio while working a flexible schedule around your classes.
Minimum qualifications for tutors and writing assistants:

Currently enrolled at ASU

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Earned an A or B in subjects tutored
-
Completed minimum 6 hours in literacy & critical inquiry (L) courses (writing tutors)
Additional qualifications
-
An interest in collaborative learning
-
A passion for writing or the topic tutored
- Excellent communication skills
- Previous tutoring experience
- Faculty referral(s)
Requirements
All tutors must:

attend two 5-hour training workshops. (Training is offered prior to the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.)

comply with job expecations/requirements
Writing tutors must enroll in WAC 294, a one-credit course. The two training workshops are included in the course requirements.
Pay rate
Starting pay for undergraduate tutors is $9.50/hour.
Graduate tutors start at $10.00/hour.
