About Writing Tutoring

Tutors receive ongoing training in methods and concepts based on established writing center theory and research.  Writing Center tutors can help your students to

• understand assignments.
• explore, plan, and organize ideas.
• draft and revise. 
• learn to proofread.
• address characteristic problems.
• develop effective writing strategies.
• understand styles of documentation.

The writing assignments your student submits will reflect his or her own work.

Connecting your class to the Writing Center 

• Add a link to the Writing Center to your course Blackboard site.
• Bring your class to the Writing Center. 
• Encourage your students to visit the Writing Center.
