Online Graduate Academic Support

Online graduate academic support is available for graduate students who are seeking assistance with writing or statistics assignments in any 500, 600, or 700 course, by appointment only. Graduate writing tutors will review your document and dialogue with you to help you identify any common errors and areas for revision. Graduate statistics tutors will work with you on the quantitative analysis portion of your course work, thesis, dissertation, or other research projects. 

UASP Online tutoring utilizes Zoom for tutoring sessions. Learn more about Using Zoom and System Requirements.

Online tutoring is open Wednesday 1/15-Thursday 1/16 4pm-9pm, Arizona time. We will be closed for MLK Day holiday Sunday 1/19 and Monday 1/20 and will reopen Tuesday 1/21 at 4pm, Arizona time.

Online Graduate Writing Tutoring

Graduate students can work with graduate writing tutors at any stage of the writing process to hone their writing skills and to receive coaching advice about navigating graduate life. UASP offers both online writing tutoring in addition to four on-campus locations to serve ASU graduate students.

Graduate writing tutors can:

  • Discuss an outline of your ideas before you start writing
  • Reivew grammar and sentence style options
  • Check for proper citation of sources
  • Discusss integration of evidence
  • Discuss ways to organize and revise your ideas

Online Graduate Statistics Tutoring

Graduate statistics tutoring provides ASU graduate students with free one-on-one appointment-based tutoring for coursework as well as peer guidance on the quantitative analysis portion of theses, dissertations, or other research projects. Graduate students can make an appointment with a tutor to discuss and work on:

  • Statistics coursework
  • Data cleaning and proper formatting
  • How to perform analysis using software such as SPSS, SAS, R, Excel, Minitab, and JMP
  • How to explain the meaning and significance of your results in writing

Online graduate writing tutoring and statistics tutoring are offered by appointments.   Students can schedule 1 appointment per day and up to 4 appointments per week.  It is recommended that you schedule appointments at least one week in advance.

To schedule an appointment:

  • Schedule your appointment using TutorTrac.
  • Log in using your ASURITE User ID.
  • For writing tutoring, select "Graduate Writing Tutoring."  For statistics tutoring, select "Graduate Statistics Tutoring."
  • Choose an appointment time that fits your schedule.
  • Appointments are offered in Arizona time. Click here to find out what time it is in Arizona.

A confirmation email will be sent to your ASU email address with further detailed instructions, including the URL address of the tutoring room in Zoom.

Drop-In Writing Waiting Room

If all online graduate writing appointments are currently scheduled, the online drop-in writing waiting room is an option when the online graduate writing tutoring center is open Sundays-Thursdays 3pm-10pm. To access the drop-in writing waiting room, please complete the queue form. Please review these online drop-in writing waiting room policies.
